Wheelchair and Adaptive Seating Clinic

If you depend on a wheelchair for mobility, a proper fit is essential. With a doctor’s prescription, and following your insurance guidelines, we’ll arrange for a personalized Wheelchair Clinic. At this one-on-one clinic you can expect:

  • A thorough assessment of your posture, potential for skin breakdown, and your level of mobility and function
  • To learn about various devices and which one will provide you the greatest level of independence, function, mobility, positioning, and skin protection
  • If pressure reduction cushions are needed. If so, we’ll complete a pressure mapping assessment to determine the most beneficial seat cushion for you
  • To learn ways to move about more easily at home and in public spaces
  • Adjustments to your wheelchair to improve your mobility and comfort

Premier Health licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists and representatives from a wheelchair vendor all are on hand to assist you. These personalized Wheelchair Clinics are certified by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
