PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL Residency

The PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) Residency Program at Miami Valley Hospital is a 24-month post-graduate program that will prepare you for a successful career as a pharmacy executive or health care leader – in roles such as clinical coordinator, team leader, and pharmacy supervisors or managers, in a variety of pharmacy practice, health care settings, and academic medical centers.

This program will help you grow and strengthen your clinical, leadership, operational, and professional skills. As you complete the residency program, you will complete the online Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership program of the University of Cincinnati, James L Winkle College of Pharmacy.

Purpose

PGY2 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification.

The PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL residency is a new program with anticipated accreditation. Once our accreditation is achieved, all past residents of this program will be considered to have completed an ASHP residency.
